Ngige, who highlighted the durability of roads constructed during his tenure 20 years ago, stressed the need for Soludo to rehabilitate deteriorating road sections and initiate new construction projects for the people’s welfare. He urged the governor to prioritize maintenance culture, emphasizing that well-maintained roads can endure for more than two decades.

In addressing security concerns, Ngige commended Soludo’s efforts but urged him to intensify security measures. He also raised the issue of security votes, criticizing some governors for allegedly diverting these funds for personal use instead of stabilizing security in their states.

Ngige drew parallels between security and publicity spending, stating that although the effects might not be immediately tangible, stability in security leads to prosperity through enhanced economic activities. He attributed the economic disruptions in the South-East to various factors, including the sit-at-home orders and activities conducted under the guise of Nnamdi Kanu.

Concluding his advice, Ngige acknowledged Soludo’s efforts but encouraged a stronger focus on security, road maintenance, and new construction projects to ensure sustained development and prosperity for the people of Anambra.

Following the tragic murder of 15 residents in the Efeyi Ugboju community of Otukpo Local Government Area on Tuesday, Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have engaged in a bitter exchange of accusations.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In separate releases on Wednesday, the opposition party and its 2027 gubernatorial hopeful, Michael Aondoakaa, slammed Governor Alia, alleging a lack of effective leadership and an inability to safeguard citizens. Conversely, the governor hit back, claiming that the opposition is cynically capitalizing on a security disaster for political mileage.

Speaking through its Publicity Secretary, Bright Antyo, the PDP condemned the administration’s sluggish reaction to ongoing violence. The party asserted that true leadership requires decisive action and empathy rather than empty words—qualities they claim are missing under the current administration.

Aondoakaa further charged that the state government is prioritizing the suppression of dissent over tackling the root causes of insecurity. He lamented that communities remain vulnerable to constant invasions and farmer displacements, yet officials treat public criticism as a graver threat than the attackers themselves, noting that the bloodshed persists despite government denials.

In his defense, Governor Alia, via his Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula, argued that the crisis demands collective compassion and unity instead of partisan assaults. The governor emphasized that his administration remains deeply committed to tackling insecurity by providing security agencies with robust logistics, intelligence support, personnel motivation, and collaboration with local vigilante networks to restore lasting peace.
