The Senate observed a minute of silence in honor of the departed leaders, following motions moved by Senator Jimoh Ibrahim (APC – Ondo South) for Akeredolu and Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau Jibrin (APC – Kano North) for Na’Abba.
Senator Barau, who served as the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations during Na’Abba’s tenure, highlighted the late speaker’s steadfast commitment to the independence of the legislative arm. He acknowledged Na’Abba’s instrumental role in establishing the necessary structures for the House of Representatives in the Fourth Republic.
