Just In: Appeals Court Decision Secures Wins For Four PDP Members In The House Of Representatives
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State has expressed satisfaction with the Court of Appeal, Abuja Division’s ruling that upheld the election victory of four of its members in the House of Representatives. In a statement released by the party’s state spokesperson, Hassan Sayinnawal, on Saturday, the PDP congratulated its candidates for having their mandates affirmed through the legal process…..CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The statement acknowledged the confidence and support the people of Sokoto State have placed in the PDP and its candidates, considering the court’s decision as validation of the electorate’s preference for the party’s progressive governance philosophy. The PDP urged the public to continue supporting the party’s ideals, expressing confidence that the mandates expressed in the 2023 elections would be preserved through ongoing judicial processes.
Specifically mentioned were the upheld victories of Mani Katami for Binji Silame Federal Constituency, Abdussamad Dasuki for Kebbe-Tambuwal Federal Constituency, Sa’idu Bargaja for Isa-Sabon-Birni Federal Constituency, and Bashir Gorau for Goronyo Gada Federal Constituency.
The court’s declaration of Mani Katami as the winner in the Binji/Silame Federal Constituency, replacing the All Progressives Congress candidate previously declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, was highlighted. Additionally, the court affirmed the elections of Abdulsamad Dasuki and Bashir Gorau for the Kebbe/Tambuwal and Gada/Goronyo federal constituencies, respectively.
Furthermore, the court announced the victory of the PDP’s candidate, Saidu Bargaja, for the Isa/Sabon Birmi federal constituency, surpassing the late APC member, Honourable Abdukadir Jelani Dambuga, who held the seat until his recent demise.
However, the Court of Appeal, also on Saturday, declared the election of another PDP member, Umar Yabo, representing the Yabo/Shagari federal constituency inconclusive, ordering a rerun in 26 polling units in the constituency.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
