According to Nwanyanwu, investigations have revealed that the State Security Services (SSS) brought charges against Dantalle in October 2021, accusing him of being found with dangerous weapons at Ayingba in Kogi State in the same year. The case is still pending before the Federal High Court, Lokoja.
Despite these criminal charges, Dantalle is reportedly competing for the IPAC national chairmanship position against Engr Yabagi Yusuf Sani, the National Chairman of Action Democratic Party (ADP). The IPAC electoral committee’s decision on Dantalle’s eligibility remains uncertain.
Nwanyanwu, contacted by phone, clarified that he is not in a position to make determinations on the contestants’ eligibility. As the election umpire, his role is to ensure a peaceful and free election.
A statement disclosed that the State Security Service instituted a case against Dantalle in October 2021, with the charges yet to be adjudicated by the court. The charges include the alleged possession of a Barreta Pistol without a license and the possession of nine live rounds of ammunition without a license.
When contacted, Dantalle acknowledged the ongoing court case, asserting his presumption of innocence until proven guilty. He emphasized that the court has not found him guilty of the charges.
