Breaking: President Bola Tinubu Enacts Comprehensive Changes, Removing Heads Of Key Aviation-Organizations
On Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu implemented a comprehensive overhaul of leadership within the aviation sector, dismissing and appointing heads of various agencies. Furthermore, Tinubu suspended the Director-General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Musa Nuhu, to facilitate an unrestricted investigation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission into the activities of the suspended Director-General and other senior officials in the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority.
In light of these changes, Tinubu appointed Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku as the substantive Managing Director of FAAN, Umar Farouk as the substantive Managing Director of NAMA, and Mr. Alex Badeh Jr. as the substantive Director-General of the NSIB. Prof. Charles Anosike assumes the role of substantive Director-General of NiMET, while Mr. Joseph Imalighwe is named the Acting Rector of NCAT, and Mr. Chris Najomo takes office as the Acting Director-General of the NCAA.
Additionally, Tinubu directed the commencement of the process, led by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, to recruit a substantive Vice-Chancellor and other principal officers for the African Aviation and Aerospace University. This strategic move aims to align the sector with the President’s commitment to world-class standards in consumer protection and the promotion of the well-being of Nigerian passengers.
Anticipating that the new leadership will prioritize safety, convenience, and comfort, Tinubu emphasized the urgent need for world-class policy design, implementation, and regulatory frameworks to elevate the sector, aligning with his Renewed Hope Agenda. All directives from the President take immediate effect.
