Nigerians React As Atiku Keeps Academic Records Private-Despite Exposing Tinubu’s
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has chosen not to disclose his academic records, despite his legal efforts this year to compel Chicago State University (CSU) to release President Bola Tinubu’s academic records. Nivo News initially requested Atiku’s academic certificates, from primary school to university, including his Master’s degree, as indicated in his filings with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2019 and 2023 presidential elections….CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Despite a lack of response from Atiku seven weeks after the request, Nivo News sent a reminder on November 13, 2023. The reminder was delivered to Atiku’s residence in Asokoro and his media office in Abuja, both of which acknowledged receipt. Atiku’s spokesperson, Paul Ibe, assured a prompt response, but Atiku did not reply or provide the requested information to the public through other means.
In the letter, Nivo News congratulated Atiku for obtaining Tinubu’s academic records and urged him to exhibit transparency by sharing his own records. The request included admission records, transcripts, and certificates from all academic institutions attended, along with employment and business records.
Atiku had previously pursued Tinubu’s CSU records, alleging forgery. Although the U.S. court ordered CSU to release the records, the Supreme Court of Nigeria refused to admit them as evidence in Atiku’s petition against the election result, citing procedural issues.
Despite Atiku’s call for transparency in public figures, his refusal to release his academic records, similar to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s stance, appears hypocritical. Atiku’s reluctance contrasts with his persistent demand for transparency from political rivals, raising questions about his commitment to ethical standards in public life.
