Breaking: Arrest Of Imo Monarch And Cop Suspected-Killer (Police Unveil Operational Details)

The Imo State Police Command provided details on the arrest of suspected Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) members involved in the killing of a traditional ruler, a party ward chairman, a DPO in Ahiazu Mbaise, and an Inspector of Police. The operation resulted in the arrest of 25 male suspects involved in various criminal activities, including IPOB/ESN terrorism, armed robbery, murder, stealing, cultism, and unlawful possession of firearms. The police recovered 20 assault rifles, including AK-47 rifles, pump-action guns, pistols, and 359 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, six vehicles, charms, IPOB/ESN vests, military camouflage, Biafra currency, police vests, and other incriminating items were seized.

The commissioner highlighted specific cases, such as the murder of the DPO and Inspector on 27/11/2023, where the police dislodged the criminal syndicate at Umuohie in Ngor Okpala LGA and arrested a native doctor named Everest Agbaragam. The operation extended to Umuogwu Forest in Aboh Mbaise LGA on 1/12/23, resulting in the dislodgment of a terrorist camp and the recovery of firearms and explosives.

The commissioner also mentioned the arrest of two notorious armed robbery suspects, the response to intelligence about IPOB/ESN members in Orie Akokwa market, and the swift action against an armed robbery gang in Orlu.

Furthermore, the police apprehended suspects involved in POS fraud at Umukoto Umudibia, Nekede. One suspect, Ifeanyi Anyasodor, was arrested, and a stolen POS machine was recovered. The suspect confessed to the crime and his membership in the Vikings confraternity.

The commissioner appreciated Governor Hope Uzodimma’s support and commended the officers and sister security agencies involved in the successful operations.
