During a meeting with the APC’s National Executives from the South-South region, Akpabio expressed confidence in the party’s potential for significant success, underscoring past electoral achievements and the strides made by the APC in the region.

Highlighting notable accomplishments, Akpabio praised the APC’s stronghold in Cross Rivers State and its prominent representation in legislative bodies such as the Senate and House of Representatives in Akwa Ibom.

He stated, “We are making steady progress. Cross River State is now 100% APC. Although there may be individuals in the Senate, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly from different parties, the governorship and government of the state are firmly in the hands of the APC.”

“Akwa Ibom currently has the Senate President, and with members of the House of Representatives, it indicates positive developments. Winning the presidential election in Rivers State, where the Zonal chairman hails from, and the 2019 victory in Bayelsa State, despite legal challenges, affirm that the APC is firmly established in the entire South.”

“In Edo State, the APC governor defected to another party, so as we approach the upcoming election, I expect the chairman to intensify efforts, involving all of us in the campaign, to reclaim what rightfully belongs to us.”

The APC delegation, led by Victor Giadom, the National Vice Chairman for the South-South, actively participated in the discussions, demonstrating the party’s dedication to enhancing its influence and expanding its presence within the region.
