Nigerians React As Plateau State Governor Pledges Advancements In Land Administration And Infrastructure

The training, conducted under the State Action on Enabling Business Reforms (SABER), focuses on Small Claims Debt Recovery and Alternative Dispute Resolution to improve the business environment and foster economic development.
Represented by Deputy Governor Mrs. Josephine Piyo, Governor Mutfwang emphasized the importance of the training in achieving eight Disbursement Linked Indicators (DLIs) geared towards expediting dispute resolution related to small claims and debt recovery.
The governor highlighted that equipping magistrates with knowledge and skills in Small Claims Practice Direction and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) would create a conducive environment for business growth, ultimately enhancing the state’s economy.
Governor Mutfwang commended the State Judiciary for their dedication and eagerness to enhance their expertise. Samari Modibo, Head of the Programme Monitoring and Results Delivery Office (PMRDO), underscored the significance of efficient dispute resolution in attracting and retaining investments.
He explained that providing Alternative Dispute Resolution methods is crucial in overcoming the challenges of time-consuming and costly court proceedings, offering flexibility and privacy.
Modibo noted that the training would delve into Small Claims Practice Direction (SCPD) and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), enabling magistrates to implement best practices and techniques for effective dispute resolution.
He emphasized that empowering the judiciary through investment and tools would contribute to the overall economic growth and development of the state. Modibo urged collaborative efforts at all levels to implement reforms that attract investments and drive sustainable economic growth.
