IPOB is advising Orizu that anyone attempting to purchase the title is positioning themselves in opposition to the group. According to Emma Powerful, the spokesperson for IPOB, the heir of Igwe Orizu is allegedly plotting to acquire the title to lend credibility to his gubernatorial campaign.

A segment of Powerful’s statement expresses, “The attention of the global movement and family of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) ably led by the great and indefatigable leader, Mazi Nnamdi KANU has been drawn to the secret plans by the Traditional Ruler of Nnewi, Igwe Orizu’s heir and some in his cabinet to sell the ‘Ikemba Nnewi’ title that was given to our eternal leader, late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu to some politician in his kingdom.”

IPOB is vehemently opposing this move, emphasizing that the “Ikemba Nnewi” title exclusively belongs to Odumegwu Ojukwu due to his significant contributions to the Biafra Nation. The group is alerting Igwe Orizu to the clandestine plans and warning those involved to refrain from such actions. They stress that tampering with this title would incur the wrath of IPOB and the Igbo people in general.

In conclusion, IPOB insists that the “Ikemba Nnewi” title should remain associated solely with the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and individuals in Nnewi or any part of Alaigbo should not be permitted to be conferred with this title. The group urges Igwe Orizu to reconsider any plans to sell the title and to choose alternative titles for conferral.

He said the party’s National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for Monday will address key issues such as zoning arrangements and nomination fees.

According to him, “We are going to have a presidential candidate. The NEC will decide the zoning formula. Our goal is to win the election and take power from the APC.”

Responding to questions about Wike’s support for President Tinubu, he argued that the minister was speaking in his personal capacity and not on behalf of the PDP.

Speaking on Arise News, Ukachukwu said Nigerians should not be bearing the effects of global tensions such as the US-Iran conflict, especially as the country has local refining capacity.

He noted that although Nigeria is affected by global geopolitics, the impact should not justify a drastic spike in fuel prices.

Wike Allegedly Resigns From PDP Membership

According to him, “There is some kind of manipulation going on with the marketers. Nigeria should be insulated from the US-Iran war because we have local refining capacity, including the Dangote refinery.

“Yes, global disruptions can affect us, but not to the extent of 300 percent. That is not acceptable, and there are clear manipulations happening.”

Meanwhile, the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has suspended its planned strike after intervention by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo.
