Emphasizing the principle of “united we stand, divided we fall,” Bala highlighted that the UPPP is a coalition of progressive political parties committed to progressivism. Their common goal is to advance the Kogi agenda regardless of political party affiliations.
The group also called on the governor-elect to extend a hand of fellowship to all political parties that participated in the election. Bala congratulated Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the APC candidate, on his victory and commended INEC for conducting a transparent and credible election, following due diligence and compliance with electoral laws.
The statement expressed the UPPP’s appeal for magnanimity in victory, citing the need for an all-inclusive governance approach similar to that demonstrated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The group also lauded Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for his leadership.
Acknowledging the grievances of some stakeholders, the UPPP urged restraint, emphasizing that resorting to the rule of law is the proper channel for addressing concerns. The statement concluded with an appeal to all political party candidates to collaborate in building a united Kogi that transcends ethnic, religious, and sectional divides for the overall development and peace of the state.
