When questioned by Nivo News about his decision to abstain from voting, Olekamma explained that none of the candidates in the election appealed to him. While expressing a preference for a specific politician and former member of the House of Representatives, he expressed disappointment that the said politician couldn’t secure his party’s ticket. Olekamma emphasized the difficulty he faced in deciding which contestant to vote for and cited his belief that his vote didn’t count in the last presidential election as another reason for his decision.
“I’m not going to vote. Who do I vote for? I don’t have any interest in all the people contesting. The person who should have made me vote (he mentions his name) was not given a ticket. Moreover, I don’t need to disturb myself when my vote didn’t count during the presidential election,” he stated.
