Breaking: Groups Of Protesters Clash Over Commissioner Of Police....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The streets of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, witnessed contrasting protests on Friday, November 10, with two groups expressing divergent opinions regarding the state Commissioner of Police, Tolani Alausa, in anticipation of the governorship election on Saturday, November 11.

A group of women, donned in black attire, marched through the streets demanding the removal of Commissioner Alausa. Despite being addressed by police authorities on Thursday and advised to remain calm, the women resumed their demonstration on Friday.

Attempts to march to the police headquarters were reportedly met with teargas dispersal by anti-riot policemen. Allegedly sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led government, the women expressed dissatisfaction with the commissioner’s stance.

Simultaneously, another group of residents conducted a unity walk titled “Operation Bayelsa State Commissioner of Police, Sir. Tolani Alausa Must Stay.” This group expressed confidence in Commissioner Alausa, asserting that the PDP-led government sought his removal because he resisted their influence.

The group praised the Inspector-General of Police for not yielding to the state government’s alleged attempts at manipulation, emphasizing the importance of maintaining peace.
