Just In: Nnamdi Azikiwe University Staff Faces Suspension Over Certificate Forgery Allegations....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, has suspended one of its staff members, Nwafor Ogbonnaya Nwesuzor, following allegations of certificate forgery. The university took this action after Nwafor was accused of presenting a forged degree and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) exemption certificate in an attempt to secure a job within the institution.

The suspension, which will last for six months, was announced by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Charles Okechukwu Esimone, and is part of the ongoing process to address Nwafor’s case, as stated in a press release by the Special Adviser to the Vice Chancellor on Public Relations and Special Duties, Emmanuel Ojukwu.

The university’s investigation revealed that Nwafor had abandoned his undergraduate program and subsequently forged the university statement of result and an NYSC exclusion letter. He later completed his degree under a different name, leading to suspicion when he requested a change in his degree result. The investigation discovered discrepancies between the documents he originally submitted and the new ones he sought to substitute, including variations in the class of degree mentioned on the documents.

The Vice Chancellor took action in accordance with the university’s rules and regulations, suspending Nwafor from his employment for six months while the case undergoes further processes within the institution before final resolution.
