The particulars of the meeting between President Bola Tinubu and four ambassador-designates from Belgium, Angola, Norway, and Venezuela have been disclosed.

The four ambassador-designates presented their Letters of Credence to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday.

In his discussions with the envoys, President Tinubu emphasized his administration’s dedication to promoting economic collaboration and robust diplomatic relations with foreign missions. He also assured the ambassadors of an open-door policy, highlighting his government’s readiness to address their concerns and ensure their assignments are fulfilling.

Additionally, President Tinubu discussed enhancing maritime and energy cooperation with the Belgian ambassador, Pieter Leenknegt, and explored the potential dredging of the Calabar port to enhance its revenue-generating capabilities.

During the meeting with the Angolan Ambassador, Jose Zau, President Tinubu congratulated President Joao Lourenco of Angola on his re-election, referring to him as “a very good friend.”

In discussions with the Norwegian Ambassador, Sevin Baera, President Tinubu shared his vision for Nigeria’s energy transition, emphasizing the priority of transitioning from petroleum to gas to hydrogen. He called on Norway and other EU member countries to support his administration’s economic reform programs, particularly in the areas of food security, preservation, and other critical agro-allied investments.

President Tinubu assured the Ambassadors that the Foreign Ministry and the Office of his Chief of Staff would always be available to engage with foreign missions and address any matters of concern. He stated, “We will maintain an open-door policy. We are ready to do anything that will make your stay rewarding and our relationship strong. Do not hesitate to bring up any matter with the Foreign Minister or my Chief of Staff; they will bring it to my attention.”

The foreign ambassadors, in their separate remarks, expressed their commitment to establishing sustainable partnerships and deepening economic cooperation across various sectors.
