Tersoo Kula, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has expressed disapproval of TV presenter Rufai Oseni’s recent behavior toward guests on his show.
Oseni engaged in a heated altercation with Jesutega Onokpasa, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), during a TV show on Monday. They clashed over various topics, including President Bola Tinubu’s fuel subsidy removal and the country’s economic situation.
Critics of the APC administration have accused Oseni of bias due to the incident.
Kula, sharing his perspective on Facebook, accused Oseni of disregarding the ethics of journalism, stating, “There is no need for a responsible citizen of this country to honor any program on Arise TV that Rufai will be anchoring. He is sadly blind to ethics, lacks the basic manners, courtesy, and principles of the profession.”
“Shut Up And Sit Down” – Yul Edochie Criticizes Rufai Oseni
Nollywood actor Yul Edochie also took to Instagram to rebuke Rufai Oseni for his contentious exchange with Onokpasa. Edochie argued that Oseni, who had been caught driving on a BRT lane in Lagos, lacked the moral grounds to engage with individuals of integrity.
Yul criticized Oseni, calling him disrespectful and highlighting his lack of respect for the laws of the country. He chastised Oseni for acting arrogantly on national TV, making his guests uncomfortable, and behaving as if he were the most concerned citizen in Nigeria.
Edochie emphasized that Oseni was not superior to other Nigerians and urged him to learn how to be a journalist. He said, “You have no moral justification to talk to anybody on TV that way because you’re not better than any Nigerian.”
