JUST IN: APC and Senator Aishatu Ahmed (Binani) Set To Challenge Tribunal Decision Ruling On Gov Fintiri’s Election....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate in the recent Adamawa State governorship election, Senator Aishatu Ahmed (Binani), have affirmed their determination to appeal the tribunal’s ruling issued on Saturday, which upheld the election of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Both the APC and Binani, in separate responses, emphasized that the tribunal’s decision was not the final stop for them, and they would seek further legal recourse in higher courts.

On Saturday, the Adamawa State governorship election petitions tribunal validated Governor Fintiri’s election, asserting that Binani failed to substantiate her case against him. The tribunal also criticized the suspended resident electoral commissioner, Hudu Ari-Yunusa, for declaring Binani as the winner during the announcement of election results.

Reacting to the tribunal’s decision, the APC’s State Chairman, Idris Shuaibu, expressed surprise but remained undeterred. He stated, “We still have hope because we have two more legal avenues after the tribunal to voice our concerns and potentially overturn the tribunal’s judgment.”

Shuaibu added that the party would collaborate with the national leadership to obtain certified records of the judgment and proceed to the Court of Appeal. He emphasized, “This judgment does not reflect the true will of Adamawa voters.”

Likewise, Binani acknowledged that her fate was not solely in her hands, but she remained confident that all available legal channels would be explored to address her case. She emphasized the collective nature of the effort, saying, “The next steps involve not only Binani. The tribunal is just the initial phase; there are still the appeal and supreme courts. We will communicate our next steps after due consultations, with faith in God.

Ambassadorial Nomination Under Fire: Frank Tie Tie Exposes ‘Mistake’ Regarding Ex-FUOYE VC Fasina!.

Human rights lawyer Frank Tietie has criticized the nomination and subsequent confirmation of Professor Abayomi Fasina, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, as a non-career ambassador designate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Prior to his confirmation, a coalition of civil society organizations protested at the National Assembly on July 7, 2026, opposing Fasina’s nomination due to pending court cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, human rights violations, and victimization.

  • Despite these protests, the Nigerian Senate officially confirmed Fasina’s appointment as a non-career ambassador on Thursday.

Frank Tietie’s Position

  • During an interview on ARISE Television, Tietie argued that nominating an individual with such “baggage” was a mistake, emphasizing that ambassadors represent Nigeria in the same capacity as the President.

  • Tietie stated that the government should have sent the “right signals” by avoiding such controversial appointments, especially given the current state of governance.

  • He argued that even in the absence of a final court judgment, the allegations themselves have “tainted” Fasina’s reputation, and the Senate should have delayed the confirmation until the legal matters were resolved.

  • Tietie also suggested that the National Assembly’s decision overlooks significant social changes regarding how such allegations are now viewed by society.
