Nigeria President Bola Tinubu’s Reforms Bring Short-Term Pain But Pave Way For Prosperity....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, acknowledged on Friday that the reforms spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu have brought about temporary hardships. However, he emphasized that these reforms are essential to the well-being of all citizens and lay the groundwork for economic growth and prosperity for Nigerians.
According to the minister, the pain experienced as a result of these reforms is expected to be short-lived. He pointed out that the removal of the petrol subsidy, as envisaged by the Petroleum Industry Act of 2021, is freeing up substantial resources for both federal and state governments to invest in infrastructure and welfare programs for the people.
Minister Idris also explained that the harmonization of the foreign exchange regime is aimed at closing longstanding loopholes that have led to the loss of billions of dollars over the years.
In an interview with Punch, he stated, “The combined impact of these reforms, no doubt, has produced pain for many of our citizens, which the President and the administration have never shied away from acknowledging. No serious government seeks to inflict burdens on its people. We are very clear in explaining that these pains being felt are a short-term sacrifice to make for the kind of country that we want and that we deserve.”
He further outlined various efforts that have been made in the short and medium term, including the provision of a provisional monthly wage increase of N35,000 for six months, the establishment of an Infrastructure Support Fund to enable states to invest in critical areas that promote business, the launch of a N100 billion CNG bus rollout program, and the establishment of a presidential committee to oversee implementation.
