Nigerians React As Senate Leader Warns Opposition Against Manipulating Judiciary For Partisan Gains
Nigerians React As Senate Leader Warns Opposition Against Manipulating Judiciary For Partisan Gains....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele has issued a caution to opposition parties and their candidates, urging them to refrain from coercing the judiciary into partisan politics through the spread of disinformation and misinformation.
Bamidele’s remarks come in response to the Supreme Court’s recent confirmation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s election. In his capacity as the former Chair of the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters during the ninth National Assembly, Bamidele voiced his disapproval of the way they have inappropriately entangled the judiciary in partisan politics for their personal interests, disregarding the collective welfare of Nigeria and its citizens.
He expressed these serious concerns in a statement released by his Directorate of Media and Public Affairs in Abuja following the Supreme Court’s decision affirming President Tinubu’s election.
While celebrating the President’s victory at the apex court, Bamidele condemned the unwarranted attempts to discredit the judiciary even before the opposition parties’ and candidates’ petitions were adjudicated. He emphasized that the judiciary is among the most unwavering, trustworthy, and impartial democratic institutions that continue to support the marginalized within the federation. Hence, it is morally and ethically unacceptable for any political actor or party to subject the judiciary to a trial by media rather than adhering to legal procedures.
Bamidele pointed out that the judiciary has never been vilified by petitioners in the recent history of the federation, particularly those who have previously benefited from its impartiality and independence.
Initially, he noted that the petitioners claimed victory in the 2023 presidential elections during their separate press conferences. However, when they failed to substantiate their claims, they resorted to attempting to tarnish the well-established institutions, particularly the judiciary.
Bamidele acknowledged that the decisions made by the appellate and apex courts have clearly demonstrated that the last elections, conducted using the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, were the most credible since the inception of the Fourth Republic.
He commended the Supreme Court for upholding the truth despite the intense, unjustified, and unrelenting intimidation of judicial officers by the petitioners, who sacrificed national interests for their self-serving political goals.
With the judiciary having concluded all presidential election petitions in favor of President Tinubu, Bamidele admonished all political actors, interests, and parties to cease politicizing the rule of law and the integrity of the judiciary. He also cautioned against the misguided practice of pushing the judiciary into partisan politics, affirming that, in Nigeria, the judiciary remains an impartial arbiter devoted to delivering justice without bias towards ethnicity, economics, politics, or religion.

“Democracy Under Siege: NDC Claims INEC Frustrating Party Participation!”
The Nigeria Democratic Coalition (NDC) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of obstructing its participation in the electoral process. According to the party’s national spokesman, Osa Director, the NDC was unable to upload its list of candidates to the commission’s nomination portal because INEC failed to provide the necessary access code.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
When party representatives requested the credentials, they were told that INEC officials would “get back” to them, a delay that prevented the NDC from meeting submission requirements prior to a court-ordered deregistration. The party insists this was not a failure of their own efforts but rather a direct result of INEC’s refusal to grant access. In response, the NDC plans to renew its request for the code while pursuing a legal stay of execution regarding the court’s order to deregister the party.
Option 2: Direct and Concise
The NDC is blaming INEC for its inability to register candidates, claiming the electoral commission withheld a vital access code required for the nomination portal. Spokesman Osa Director stated that despite their attempts to secure the code, INEC officials stalled by promising to respond later, leaving the party unable to complete the mandatory online submission before a court-mandated deregistration deadline. Director clarified that the party is not at fault for the missed deadline, attributing the issue entirely to the commission’s inaction. The party intends to approach INEC again and is currently seeking a court order to suspend its deregistration.
