Breaking News: CAC Exposes 189 Scam Companies Within Abuja’s Federal Capital Territory....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has disclosed the detection of 189 fraudulent companies within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) of Abuja. These companies had deceitfully obtained land allocations in the FCT.
Hussaini Magaji, the Registrar General of the CAC, revealed this during a press conference in Abuja today. The discovery was initiated after a complaint from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) prompted the verification of a non-existent company’s request for land allocation. Subsequently, further investigation unveiled additional fictitious entities.
Magaji noted that two individuals, one of whom is a lawyer, have been apprehended. They were part of an unlawful alliance that involved personnel from the Abuja Geographical Information System, lawyers, and the commission.
Magaji emphasized the significant achievement of dismantling this group of individuals who had been facilitating fraudulent land allocations. The cartel had been collaborating with lawyers posing as accredited agents of the commission and Abuja Geographical Information System staff to secure land in the FCT. The commission became aware of this criminal activity when the FCTA requested verification of certain applications, which were found to be non-existent in their system.
The modus operandi of the cartel involved manipulating the land allocation process to prioritize their applications, resulting in land fraud in the capital city. Two suspects, including a lawyer, have been arrested, and further investigations are ongoing.
Magaji also expressed the commission’s commitment to enhancing its revenue by taking action against companies that do not disclose their annual returns and imposing appropriate penalties. This revenue enhancement will empower the commission to fulfill its mission as a world-class regulatory body.
