The Adamawa State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal is set to announce its verdict on October 28, 2023, concerning the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Aishatu Dahiru Binani, and her Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) rival, Ahmadu Fintiri, from the last gubernatorial election. This comes after the APC and Binani filed a petition, alleging significant electoral law violations and fraudulent voting practices during the March 18, 2023, election in the state. They also seek the validation of Hudu Yunusa Ari’s declaration as the winner in the absence of the Returning Officer. On the other hand, Fintiri and the PDP have requested the dismissal of the case brought by the APC and its candidate. Binani has urged the Tribunal to issue its judgment before the arraignment of the suspended INEC REC, Hudu Ari, for various charges related to the election.
