Troops from the Nigerian Army’s 33 Brigade conducted a successful ambush in Bura village, Ningi local government area of Bauchi State, neutralizing an armed bandit and making significant arrests. The operation also resulted in the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
Acting on credible intelligence, the troops strategically positioned themselves to intercept the bandits and engaged them in combat. During the encounter, one bandit was eliminated, while others fled the scene with gunshot wounds.
The soldiers recovered valuable items, including an AK-47 rifle, 14 live rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, a mobile phone, and a fetish amulet from the neutralized bandit. Ongoing efforts continue as troops pursue the remaining fleeing bandits in the surrounding area.
In a separate incident along the Bauchi-Jos Highway, troops swiftly responded to a report of a stolen Toyota Corolla vehicle (registration number ABJ 343 KL). A gang of three carjackers was apprehended after the soldiers set up a checkpoint on the highway. Upon seeing the troops, the criminals attempted to escape but ultimately crashed the stolen vehicle.
The apprehended carjackers and the stolen vehicle have been handed over to the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) for further investigation and appropriate action.
