Addressing party members during the defection event, Kingsley Oga confirmed his position as the State Chairman of the ADC but underlined the decision by ADC members in the state to shift their allegiance from their party’s candidate to wholeheartedly support Usman Ododo. Oga explained that, among all the governorship contenders in the November 11 Kogi gubernatorial election, Usman Ododo, the APC candidate, is the most qualified for the role.
He disclosed that a five-member committee was earlier established to evaluate all the gubernatorial candidates, and the committee’s findings unanimously favored Ododo as the right candidate to vote for in the impending election. Oga emphasized the importance of building upon Governor Yahaya Bello’s commendable accomplishments across various sectors, noting that Ododo would continue the progress.
Kingsley Oga applauded Governor Bello for his remarkable achievements in the state during his seven-and-a-half-year tenure. He also highlighted the positive feedback and observations about the APC gubernatorial candidate, expressing confidence that Ododo would excel as the next governor of the state.
Hon. Ibikunle, despite his membership in the ADC, expressed his decision to cast his vote for the APC candidate in the governorship election, emphasizing his supporters’ unanimous support for Usman Ododo. Furthermore, the chairpersons of all three senatorial districts within the ADC reasserted their commitment to mobilize their members for a collective vote in favor of the APC candidate.
