Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), expressed that Senator Ifeanyi Ubah’s defection to the ruling party will usher in a revolutionary change that will bring liberation to the South-East.

Ganduje made this statement during the official presentation of Senator Ubah, representing Anambra South, by Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the APC’s National Secretariat in Abuja.

Speaking to reporters at the party headquarters, the APC Chairman referred to Ubah as a significant political figure with substantial influence in Anambra politics. He described Ubah’s move as a major political development, emphasizing its potential to reshape the South-East’s political landscape.

Ganduje stated, “This is the most significant gain we have made since my tenure as chairman. We can observe what’s happening in the South-East. Out of the five states in the region, three are controlled by different political parties, including the PDP, Labour Party, and APGA. The remaining two are APC-controlled states. This raises questions about the unity of purpose within a geopolitical zone where five states are governed by four political parties. Is there a collective decision to engage in national politics? No.”

He continued, “Now we are beginning to see the answer. We are initiating a revolution. With two South-East states already under our belt and the addition of this prominent political heavyweight, Senator Ubah, we believe we have found the solution to liberating the South-Eastern geopolitical zone. I would describe him as a ‘swing politician’ because whichever party he aligns with, that party tends to succeed. We anticipate that this ‘swing’ will influence the entire South-East, particularly the other three states.”
