Tinubu: My Concentration Is On Elevating Nigeria To Achieve Greatness....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The President reiterated his unwavering commitment yesterday to the task of propelling Nigeria towards a brighter future. He expressed his dedication to elevating the nation to greater heights as his top priority.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu conveyed these sentiments through a tweet shared on his official account, accompanied by photographs of his meeting with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume. The meeting took place within the confines of the Presidential office at Aso Villa in Abuja.

In his tweet, he emphasized, “All hands must be on deck in the great task of positioning our dear nation for progress.”

Sources indicate that the President and the SGF convened to discuss government matters, with the SGF providing updates on various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).

The government has been diligently working to revitalize the economy, evidenced by the recent removal of petrol subsidies and the unification of the naira/dollar exchange rates. Additionally, efforts are ongoing to implement the agreements reached with labor leaders last week, which successfully averted a potential workers’ strike. The government is committed to fulfilling the terms of these agreements within 30 days.

It’s worth noting that the SGF plays a pivotal role in coordinating federal government affairs, serving as the clearinghouse for the Federal Executive Council (FEC). The office is responsible for appointments to boards of government departments and agencies, subject to the President’s approval.

Apart from domestic issues, the President may have been briefed on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict that erupted over the weekend.

This month, the President is slated to engage with foreign leaders, including German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who is expected to visit for bilateral economic discussions.

The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Ambassador Jon Tong Chol also acknowledged Nigeria’s political stability under the Tinubu Administration during his recent visit to the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja.

Ambassador Chol noted that despite assuming office during a challenging period, the new administration has made notable progress in national security and economic recovery. He emphasized the importance of exchanging ideas and sought a partnership between APC and the ruling Workers Party of Korea.

Ganduje welcomed the idea of strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations, emphasizing that it would contribute to the development of both countries. He highlighted the diminishing dichotomy between capitalism and socialism, with the focus shifting towards the development of the people. Comparing the roles and functions of political parties in governance and development was deemed crucial in fostering cooperation between the two parties.

Political Earthquake: Atiku Reportedly Dumps Amaechi In Bold Pivot To Ihedioha.

Following his recent primary victory, African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has initiated the process of selecting a running mate for the upcoming 2027 general election. Although Atiku secured the party’s nomination amid objections from fellow contenders Rotimi Amaechi and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, he has publicly urged both men to unite with him to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Despite these overtures, reports indicate that neither Amaechi nor Hayatu-Deen is currently being considered for the vice-presidential position. Instead, focus has shifted toward the South-East region, a zone viewed by party insiders as a strategic political ally. Emeka Ihedioha, the former governor of Imo State, has emerged as a leading candidate for the role. Ihedioha is noted for his loyalty to the party and his significant efforts in securing regional support for Atiku during the primaries, unlike many others who defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Conversely, concerns persist regarding Amaechi’s political influence, with sources suggesting that his lack of firm control over his home state, Rivers, and the broader South-South region makes his selection a strategic risk. Regarding the selection timeline, Atiku’s Special Adviser, Paul Ibe, confirmed that the party is actively consulting to finalize its ticket in accordance with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) schedule. While Ibe dismissed the likelihood of Amaechi being selected, he remained non-committal regarding Ihedioha’s candidacy, stating only that consultations remain ongoing.
