Ongoing Delta Governorship Appeal Cases To Abuja....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Niger Delta Comrades Assembly (NDCA) has voiced its support for calls to relocate the Delta Governorship Petition appeals, scheduled for hearing at the Court of Appeal, Asaba Division, to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
The National Speaker of the NDCA, Mr. Lebari Young, cautioned against individuals exploiting the current tense situation to disrupt the peace and harmony prevailing in the state. Speaking to reporters in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, Young warned of increasing political tension in the state due to tribunal judgments, with some celebrating and others feeling disappointed and angry.
He urged politicians who lost in the tribunals to prepare for future elections rather than exacerbating tensions. Young noted that governorship elections in Delta State are highly contested due to the region’s resource wealth.
Young emphasized the importance of safeguarding judges and the integrity of their judgments, asserting that the agitation observed in various parts of the country could potentially lead to lawlessness if not addressed swiftly and carefully.
He called on the Nigerian Judicial Council (NJC) to shield judges from undue interference by vested interests. Young stated, “It is for these reasons that the Niger Delta Comrades Assembly is urging the Nigerian Judicial Commission (NJC) to relocate all Election Tribunal Appeal Hearings in Delta State to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.”
“As a group, the Niger Delta Comrades Assembly has closely observed the escalating political tension in Delta State following the verdicts of election tribunals in the state. While some political observers are celebrating, others are dismayed and upset by the outcomes,” Young explained.
He concluded by expressing the hope for a prompt and considerate response from the NJC’s leadership to prevent unnecessary unrest that could escalate into lawlessness in the state. Young noted that the political tension is not unique to Delta State but is palpable in several other states across the country.
