Former Minister Of Sports Solomon Dalung Takes Aim At Tinubu, Accuses Him Of Facilitating Subsidy Fraud....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Former Minister of Sports and Youth, Solomon Dalung, has criticized President Bola Tinubu for allegedly succumbing to fuel subsidy profiteers in the country.

On May 29, 2023, President Tinubu announced the removal of fuel subsidies, citing their absence from the 2023 budget as the reason.

During a recent interview with Trust Radio, Dalung expressed his view that the President’s declaration on his inauguration day played into the hands of those involved in subsidy-related corruption.

Dalung pointed out that Nigerians have yet to recover from the shock of the fuel subsidy removal, and the federal government has not offered any relief measures for vulnerable citizens.

However, Dalung suggested that if necessary, Tinubu should consider reintroducing a 50 percent subsidy.

He stated, “He made a significant blunder by falling into the trap of subsidy profiteers by declaring that the subsidy was gone. Nigerians have not recovered from that traumatic experience.”

The former minister also emphasized the importance of defending the Naira, comparing allowing the Naira to float freely to sending a soldier into battle without proper equipment.

He urged the President to prioritize the preservation of Nigerian lives, suggesting that his economic policies lacked empathy.

Dalung argued that the people are enduring hardship and suffering from hunger due to the current economic difficulties facing the nation, which need to be urgently addressed.

He concluded, “The promise that Nigerians can sacrifice for the future is unattainable, and it makes him look like a heartless leader. He must redeem his reputation because people are dying of hunger, and you are asking them to sacrifice. So, if they sacrifice and all die, who will witness the future? He needs to save lives first before discussing economic policies, and his economic policies should consider the well-being of the people. Otherwise, he will end up like Buhari.”

Oloyede said many of the issues recorded during the mock exercise were due to poor assessment of centres by some technical officials.

He further stated that incentive packages would be awarded to teams that perform exceptionally, particularly in handling exam materials and submitting timely reports.
