Kano Government Sets Aside N160 Million For Vaccinating Goats And Sheep....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The government of Kano State, led by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has allocated the sum of one hundred and sixty million Naira for the vaccination of goats and sheep in the state. This initiative, conducted through the Kano State Agro-pastoral Development Project (KSADP), aims to vaccinate 1.8 million goats and sheep as part of a broader livestock vaccination campaign across the state.
The Kano state government officially announced this vaccination program in a statement released on Wednesday morning by Ameen Yassar, the spokesperson for the Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP). The project, financially supported by the Islamic Development Bank and the Lives and Livelihood Funds, seeks to enhance livestock health and improve the livelihoods of herders and livestock breeders.
During the launch of community awareness activities for the project in Kura, a location near Kano, the project coordinator for KSADP, Ibrahim Muhammad, shared further details. “The project is committed to scaling up vaccination efforts because livestock health is closely tied to your livelihoods and, by extension, our economy. The purpose of this engagement is to strengthen vaccination efforts and seek the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure the success of the campaign,” explained Mr. Muhammad.
He mentioned that the organization has undertaken various projects, including upgrading and equipping the Kadawa Artificial Insemination Centre, constructing milk collection centers, upgrading cattle markets, and implementing a crop residue utilization program to enhance the herders’ livelihoods. Additionally, the organization plans to contract the demarcation of stock routes in Kano to help resolve conflicts between farmers and herders in the state.
The district leader of Kura, represented by Balarabe Muhammad, highlighted the success of past vaccination efforts, which have kept livestock diseases at bay for the past three years. He instructed village leaders and community heads responsible for herders in his jurisdiction to prepare actively for the upcoming vaccination campaign.
Zubairu Muhammad, speaking on behalf of the herders’ communities in Kura LGA, expressed their familiarity with livestock vaccination, having benefitted from it over the past three years. He assured that there would be no opposition to the vaccination program and expressed gratitude to the Islamic Development Bank and the LLF for their unwavering support.
Furthermore, Idris Ibrahim, the zonal veterinary director for the Rano zone, emphasized the importance of the vaccination campaign and suggested that it include rabies vaccination for livestock guard dogs owned by herders.

Power Struggle Erupts: IPOB Leadership Dumps Nnamdi Kanu, Declares Office Of The Leader Vacant.
In a significant leadership transition, the Directorate of State (DOS) of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has announced the indefinite suspension of Nnamdi Kanu from his position as leader, as well as the removal of the Director of Radio Biafra.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to an official statement released on Thursday by the Head of the DOS, Mazi Chikadibia Edoziem, the decision was finalized during a plenary meeting of the Directorate held on Wednesday. The DOS has now assumed full administrative control over the organization’s operations.
Rationale Behind the Suspension
The group emphasized that IPOB was established by a collective of Biafrans in the Diaspora, rather than any single individual, and asserted that no one holds the authority to dismantle the DOS, which remains the group’s highest decision-making body.
The leadership cited critical intelligence regarding communications allegedly originating from Kanu while in Sokoto prison as the primary catalyst for the suspension. The DOS noted that:
-
Security Risks: Certain “unguarded communications” from the prison have reportedly led to unnecessary arrests, torture, and the loss of life among IPOB members in the region.
-
Surveillance: The group claimed that Kanu’s current interactions and visitors are being closely monitored by the Department of State Services (DSS), prompting fears of further security compromises.
-
Preventing Escalation: The leadership stated that the suspension aims to curb unauthorized actions and reckless rhetoric that could provoke further violence.
Furthermore, the DOS warned against the creation of new militias, stating that IPOB will no longer accept responsibility for any criminal acts or actions taken by individuals not currently holding an authorized position within the group.
Counter-Movements and Conflicting Claims
This announcement follows reports that Nnamdi Kanu had attempted to dissolve the current DOS administration. Reports attributed to IPOB spokesperson, Emma Powerful, indicated that Kanu had appointed U.S.-based Mazi Chris Nwaọgụ as the new Head of the Directorate, instructing him to take charge of the movement’s daily management.
The Directorate of State, which has served as the administrative backbone of IPOB since its founding in 2012, remains at the center of this power struggle as the movement navigates the implications of these competing leadership claims.
