Former Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN), has emphasized that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu doesn’t require him to be officially appointed as a Minister in the current administration.
Speaking at Lagos State University, Ojo, Fashola asserted that the Tinubu administration is nurturing the future generation of leaders. He highlighted that he doesn’t necessitate an official federal role.
Fashola expressed, “I don’t require a formal designation to contribute. The President is already appointing at least one minister from each state, as he has done. There are limited positions in government agencies, and considering our population of approximately 200 million, there aren’t enough roles for everyone.”
He stressed the importance of all citizens fulfilling their civic duties, regardless of their official titles, saying, “A citizen does not need an official position to serve. The most significant role we can assume is that of a responsible citizen. We should also consider the prospects for the next generation. If some individuals do not transition, where will the opportunities be for the succeeding cohort?”
