On another note, some Super Falcons players have accused the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of mistreatment for not paying their 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup bonuses even 43 days after the tournament. The players alleged that they were treated unfairly and referred to as “slaves” due to unpaid match bonuses and allowances over the years. Despite the alleged mistreatment, they continued playing out of their love for football and country.
The NFF responded by stating that FIFA had not yet provided the promised funds for the World Cup and claimed that all daily allowances had been paid. They also mentioned that the bonuses due to the players before the World Cup had been settled, except for one qualifying match.
