Beverly Osu, the Nollywood actress, has revealed that she entered a convent as a reverend sister but was later asked to leave.
She made this disclosure during her appearance on the latest episode of the “Tea With Tay” podcast, hosted by actor Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, also known as Taymesa.

Osu explained that her family sent her to a convent while she was still in high school. She added that her involvement in extracurricular activities, such as performing secular music and participating in stage plays (including one where she portrayed Lucifer), led to her expulsion.
Although the school authorities did not explicitly use the term “expulsion,” they instructed her to continue doing God’s work elsewhere and not to return.
She said, “My family initially thought I was very stubborn, so they decided to send me there, and I agreed to it.”
“The school was called ‘Daughter of Divine Love,’ and whether you were a sister or not, you could register there. They chose a reverend sister for me, so I had to follow that path, but I eventually got expelled.
“Even to this day, I still have some resentment, like, ‘Why did they expel me?’ But then, I used to perform secular music, I was the drum prefect, and I participated in stage plays.
“Some girls woke up and claimed that they saw me in their dreams after the stage play, and they thought I was a witch because I had played the role of Lucifer.
“They expelled me because they believed I was doing too much with the band, the stage play, and not sleeping in my bed.
“They didn’t want to call it an expulsion, but they gave me a letter telling me not to return and to continue doing God’s work elsewhere.”
