The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized Governor Ademola Adeleke for allegedly obstructing the initiatives and policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration by withholding the N2 billion intervention fund for the removal of fuel subsidy.
The party’s leadership, represented by its chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, on Sunday, October 1, expressed its disapproval of the Osun government’s lack of commitment to the welfare of citizens, accusing it of undermining federal government programs.

Lawal stated, “It is incomprehensible and unreasonable for any of the federating units to retain the Federal Government’s N2 billion fuel subsidy removal palliative after two months of receiving the funds.”
He questioned the justification for the Osun government’s refusal to grant people access to the Federal Government fund intended for a specific purpose. Lawal asked whether Governor Adeleke was waiting for people to suffer before releasing the N2 billion Federal Government fuel subsidy removal palliative.
However, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), represented by its chairman, Sunday Bisi, criticized the APC’s claims, asserting that they are not a corrupt government like the APC.
Bisi emphasized that Governor Adeleke follows due process and values accountability and transparency in all government processes. He assured that procurement orders have been placed for palliative materials, which will soon arrive, and that the comprehensive palliative plan aims to reach the masses effectively. Bisi also argued that only governments with a history of theft would assume that Governor Adeleke, from a wealthy background, would divert publicly declared palliative funds.
