Breaking: Chicago State University Directed By US Court To Release Tinubu’s Educational Documents To Atiku....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois has issued an order to Chicago State University (CSU), mandating the release of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s academic records to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar by Monday, October 2.
It is worth recalling that Atiku, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the recently concluded presidential election, is contesting the victory of Tinubu from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the February 25 poll. Among Atiku’s claims is a challenge to the authenticity of the academic records presented by the APC presidential candidate, asserting that Tinubu did not actually graduate from Chicago State University, as indicated in his academic credentials.

In a recent judgment from the US Court, Judge Nancy Maldonado highlighted that CSU did not raise any objections to Judge Jeffery Gilbert’s ruling that Tinubu’s academic records should be made public. The court reasoned that the intrusion into Tinubu’s privacy concerning his educational records was outweighed by Atiku’s legitimate interest in obtaining this information.
Maldonado proceeded to overrule Tinubu’s objections to Gilbert’s recommended ruling and fully adopted the ruling. The memorandum opinion and order specified that “Atiku’s application is therefore granted.” Given the impending deadline set by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, represented as October 5, 2023, and CSU’s willingness to comply with the discovery requests and provide a witness, the court established an expedited schedule for the completion of the discovery process. CSU was directed to furnish all pertinent and non-privileged documents.
According to the court document cited by The PUNCH, the deposition of CSU’s corporate representative, as per Rule 30(b)(6), must conclude by 5:00 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. In light of the upcoming filing deadline of October 5, 2023, before the Supreme Court of Nigeria, it is emphasized that the court will not grant any extensions or alterations to these specified deadlines.
