Kaigama emphasized that individuals planning to organize processions or celebrations related to the judgment must refrain from doing so. He underscored that any gatherings violating the law or disturbing the peace would not be tolerated.

He urged the state’s residents to uphold the law and promptly report any potential concerns to the police and other relevant security authorities.

The statement read: “We have become aware of potential intentions to hold processions or celebrations in connection with the judgment,” the statement explained.

“Sokoto state is known for its reputation as one of the most peaceful states in our nation, and we are committed to preserving that reputation.

I want to make it absolutely clear that any form of procession or gathering that contravenes the law or disrupts the peace will not be accepted.

“We appeal to the residents of Sokoto State to abide by the law and inform the police and other relevant security agencies promptly if they have any concerns.

The cooperation and vigilance of the public are essential in preserving the peace and security that we all value.”

In August, the tribunal had reserved judgment on the petition filed by Sa’idu Umar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, challenging the election of Ahmed Aliyu as the governor of Sokoto.
