A tragic incident has occurred at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) in Katsina State, resulting in the unfortunate demise of a student named Abubakar. The cause of this unfortunate event was a clash that erupted among students, which revolved around a female fellow student.
The deceased was a 200-level student enrolled in the Computer Science Department at the university.
According to Abubakar Sadiq, the spokesperson for the state police command, the incident transpired in Darawa quarters, Dutsinma local government area of the state on Thursday, following a heated argument among the students. In response to the situation, the state police have taken six students into custody in connection with the incident.
Sadiq emphatically refuted claims circulating on social media that the student’s death stemmed from a religious dispute. He urged the residents of the state to disregard such rumors.
Sadiq stated, “The command is diligently working to gather and analyze all available evidence, including eyewitness testimonies, to comprehensively understand the sequence of events that unfolded while ensuring the principles of justice and fairness are upheld.”
