German automotive giant Mercedes-Benz has reportedly lodged a complaint with the Carabinieri, alleging that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen failed to complete payments on a leased vehicle.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Osimhen, widely regarded as one of world football’s most dangerous forwards, has enjoyed an impressive career across Belgium, France, Italy, and Turkey. His standout performances came in Serie A and the Turkish Süper Lig, where he won league titles with Napoli and Galatasaray.

During his four-year spell in Naples, he played a key role in helping Napoli secure their first Scudetto in nearly four decades, earning him legendary status at the club. His move to Galatasaray last summer reportedly came with a record-breaking contract, making him the highest-paid player in Turkish league history.

The 27-year-old is said to earn over €20 million annually, a figure that supports his high-profile lifestyle and philanthropic gestures. Just last weekend, he reportedly sponsored Nigerian fans’ travel to Istanbul for the derby against Fenerbahce, where he also scored in a 3–0 victory.

However, according to reports from Italian outlet Napolista, Osimhen is now facing a legal issue after Mercedes-Benz raised concerns over an alleged unpaid balance linked to a car leased in 2023. The company claims the transaction was never fully settled and that the vehicle was not returned.

The alleged outstanding amount is said to be around €90,000 (approximately ₦142 million), a sum relatively small compared to the striker’s earnings, which have significantly increased since his title-winning season in Italy.

Osimhen is known for his taste in luxury automobiles, recently showcasing a collection that includes Lamborghini and Rolls-Royce models, with the Mercedes-Benz in question believed to be part of the dispute.

As of the time of reporting, Osimhen’s representatives have not issued any public statement regarding the matter.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, held a closed-door meeting on Wednesday in Abuja.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Sources indicate that the meeting took place at Amaechi’s residence and may be linked to ongoing political negotiations around the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 elections.

Atiku, Amaechi, and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, are reportedly among key contenders vying for the ADC presidential ticket as the party prepares for its primaries.

There has also been internal debate within the party over whether the presidential ticket should be zoned to the South.

Meanwhile, speculations suggest that Amaechi could step down from the presidential race to serve as Atiku’s running mate in a possible joint ticket arrangement.

In a related development, Collins Osuagwu, a former local government chairmanship candidate of the ADC in Imo State, has called on Atiku to reconsider his ambition for the 2027 presidency.

In an open letter, Osuagwu urged the former Vice President to support a younger aspirant, arguing that such a move would strengthen national unity, promote political stability, and enhance his legacy.

He further advised Atiku to embrace the role of a statesman rather than continue pursuing the presidency, noting that despite multiple attempts since 1992, it may be time to step aside in light of changing political dynamics.

2027 Election Drama: “Tinubu, Amupitan Can’t Run Polls Without ADC” — Nwosu.

The Founding National Chairman of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), Raph Nwosu, has insisted that the 2027 general election cannot proceed without the party featuring on the ballot.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Nwosu made the statement on Wednesday in Abuja, adding that the ADC has already secured the numbers and momentum, which he believes position the party to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.

He said the coalition within the party has recorded significant progress, noting that some serving senators from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties are already in discussions with the ADC leadership about joining the movement.

According to him, the process of rebuilding and strengthening the party has been properly handled, with the coalition acting within the right framework, while blaming Nigeria’s political challenges on what he described as a culture of impunity.

Nwosu maintained that both President Tinubu and Senate President Godswill Akpabio must be voted out in 2027, insisting that the current political structure is nearing its end.

He stated that the political environment is “dirty,” but stressed that determined individuals could still drive meaningful change, adding that even a small group of committed people could transform the system.

He further claimed that the ADC coalition has made “phenomenal progress,” arguing that attempts to undermine it would amount to weakening democracy itself, which he believes will not succeed.

Nwosu also alleged that those in power often resist change when they realise their tenure is coming to an end, saying efforts would be made to frustrate the party’s growth.

He disclosed that the party’s registration portal has already attracted over five million interested members willing to join and contribute financially, with projections suggesting the figure could rise to about 11 million by the end of the registration exercise.

Reiterating his position, Nwosu declared that neither President Tinubu nor INEC leadership would be able to conduct the 2027 election effectively if the ADC is excluded from the ballot.
