Party Chieftain Expresses Concern Over President Tinubu’s Choices
Party Chieftain Expresses Concern Over President Tinubu’s Choices....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Rivers State members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are expressing concerns about their political future in light of the ongoing political rapport between former Governor Nyesom Wike and President Bola Tinubu.
Wike, who currently serves as the Federal Capital Territory Minister, is a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Despite his affiliation with the PDP, Wike openly supported Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election.
According to members of the APC in Rivers, they feel marginalized in the state’s political landscape because the President appears to favor dealing with Wike, a PDP member, rather than them. An anonymous APC official in the state lamented that despite their sacrifices for the party since 2015, Tinubu seems to have turned his back on them instead of providing support, as was the case during the tenure of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The source expressed, “Tinubu’s actions have severely diminished what little was left of the APC or are driving the final nail into the party’s coffin in the state. It seems unlikely that the President has forgotten so quickly that it was under the leadership of Wike’s PDP in Rivers State that the APC faced numerous challenges and setbacks, significantly impacting the party’s activities from 2015 to 2019 and beyond.”
The source further emphasized that while it is within the President’s rights and authority to appoint individuals into his cabinet regardless of their political affiliations, it is equally important for him to consider the well-being of his party. The source pointed to Article 9 (3) (iii) of the APC constitution, which provides for the recognition and compensation of party members by APC-led governments at all levels. The source urged the President, as the leader of his party, to ensure that members of his party feel included in his government, regardless of any perceived shortcomings in their contributions to his victory.
