Atiku Challenges Tinubu’s Claims On Fuel Subsidy, Demanding Transparency
Atiku Challenges Tinubu’s Claims On Fuel Subsidy, Demanding Transparency....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has alleged that President Bola Tinubu is misleading the Nigerian people regarding the removal of fuel subsidies. Atiku, through his Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, contended that the Federal Government is still providing subsidies for fuel despite Tinubu’s declaration in his inaugural speech that the subsidy had been eliminated.
He pointed out that with oil prices currently at $94 per barrel and the exchange rate hovering around N1,000/$1, it is evident that the Federal Government is expending funds to maintain the fuel price at N620 per liter within the country. Atiku asserted that Nigerians should not be deceived and labeled Tinubu’s assertion of no subsidy as a falsehood, emphasizing that the lack of transparency suggests potential misappropriation of funds.

Furthermore, Atiku accused Tinubu of presiding over a government that prioritizes his own group, despite his inaugural promise to “serve without bias.” Atiku alleged that Tinubu is overseeing a government that primarily benefits his own faction, citing instances where key appointments in institutions such as the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), customs, army, police, and immigration were predominantly given to individuals from his region, while Tinubu himself held the position of the Minister of Petroleum and Gas.
Highlighting the regional disparity, Atiku noted that Tinubu appointed ten ministers from the South West and only five from the South East, which he regarded as prejudicial. Atiku also raised concerns about the legitimacy of the $3 billion loan claimed by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) from Afrexim to stabilize the naira, suggesting that it might be a fraudulent scheme.
Lastly, Atiku criticized Tinubu’s administration for its handling of the Student Loan Act, signed on June 12, which, according to Atiku, only covers tuition fees and not other educational expenses. He pointed out that after the law was enacted, federal government schools started raising their fees. As a result, Atiku argued that if tuition is free and the Student Loan Act solely covers tuition fees, it renders the act ineffective, leading to increased school fees while students receive no loans. He described this as an example of deception and cruelty within Tinubu’s government.
