The late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, known as Mohbad, was alleged to have received an injection from a member of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM).

However, the organization has denied this claim. Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, stated on September 14 that the singer passed away on September 12 in a Lagos hospital after receiving an injection from a support nurse. Additionally, it was reported that the nurse attending to the late Nigerian rapper had been detained, according to a video posted by Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo on Instagram.

Providing clarification, Toba Odumosu, the council’s state secretary, issued a statement on Saturday, asserting that the individual detained for administering the injection to the late artiste was not a licensed nurse.

The association called on the media to verify individuals’ credentials and professional status before identifying them as healthcare practitioners, even as it expressed support for the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.

The statement extended condolences to the late singer’s family and underscored the importance of professionalism in handling the inquiry into the circumstances of his death.

The statement emphasized the need for a thorough and accurate investigation, urging caution and accuracy in reporting by both the investigating authorities and the media. NANNM also demanded that any media outlets that inaccurately reported the arrest of a nurse take immediate corrective action to rectify their stories.
