The President has put forward the names of Jamila Bio Ibrahim as the Minister for Youth and Ayodele Olawande as the Minister of State for Youth. These nominations are awaiting approval from the Senate.

Ajuri Ngelale, who serves as the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, conveyed this announcement in a statement released on Sunday.

Jamila Bio Ibrahim is a medical doctor, accomplished politician, and development practitioner. She previously held the position of President of the Progressive Young Women Forum (PYWF) and served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Mr. Ayodele Olawande is a community development expert and a prominent youth leader affiliated with the ruling All Progressives’ Congress (APC). His most recent role was within the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation, where he served from 2019 to 2023.

President Tinubu expects both nominees to embody the dynamic, innovative spirit, and unwavering productivity that are characteristic of Nigeria’s youth as they fulfill their ministerial duties.
