In a ceremony held at the historic Unity Hall in the old Government House of Asaba, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori inaugurated the second batch of Special Advisers on Wednesday. In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), the governor expressed pride in introducing a distinguished group of Special Advisers, carefully chosen for their exceptional skills and expertise.

During the inauguration ceremony, Governor Oborevwori emphasized that the appointees’ roles are not merely symbolic but represent a significant opportunity to serve the people of Delta State. He urged them to be proactive agents of change and to approach their responsibilities with a deep sense of urgency. Additionally, the governor stressed the importance of avoiding any form of favoritism based on ethnicity, politics, or religion.

According to a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, Governor Oborevwori administered the oath of office to nine Special Advisers. The newly appointed Special Advisers include Barr. Charles Whomrowho Oniyere, Barr. Michael Ogboru, Hon. Ebikeme Clark, Mr. Sylvester Oromoni, Hon. Shedrack Ekene Rapu, Dr. Donald Onyibe Peterson, Dr. Goodnews Agbi, Hon. Peter Uviejitobor, and Chief Nath Azuka Igbadi.

Governor Oborevwori reiterated his commitment to advancing infrastructural development, inclusive economic growth, and sustainable development in Delta State. He called on the newly sworn-in Special Advisers to contribute their best efforts towards achieving his administration’s M.O.R.E Agenda for the state.

Governor Oborevwori expects the appointees to justify the confidence placed in them and help the administration achieve groundbreaking progress in various areas.

Court Fixes April 13 Judgment In Suit To Sack David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola As ADC Leaders.

Justice Musa Suleiman Liman of the Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed April 13 for judgment in a suit challenging the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), including Senator David Mark and former Minister Rauf Aregbesola.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The case was filed by House of Representatives member Leke Abejide, who is seeking an order restraining Mark and Aregbesola from parading themselves as national chairman and secretary of the party.

Abejide, in his suit, also asked the court to nullify the alleged transfer of leadership of the ADC and stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the duo in any official capacity.

During proceedings on Friday, counsel for all parties adopted their arguments for and against the suit, after which the judge scheduled judgment for April 13.

The defendants, including the ADC, Mark, Aregbesola, former party chairman Ralph Nwosu, and INEC, urged the court to dismiss the case, arguing that it concerns internal party affairs which are not subject to judicial intervention.

They also maintained that the plaintiff lacked legal standing and that the leadership process in question followed due party procedures.

INEC’s counsel also joined in seeking dismissal of the suit, describing it as lacking merit.

The workers, made up of Christians and Muslims, gathered at the Al-Huda Mosque in Jalingo for special prayers, seeking divine help over their prolonged hardship.

Led by convener Abdurrauf Sani, the group appealed to Governor Agbu Kefas to urgently address their situation, insisting they are legitimate state employees.
