The camp of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has asserted that Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory minister, cannot evade expulsion from the primary opposition party.

Don Pedro Obaseki, Atiku’s Director of Research, Strategy, and Documentation, argued that Wike’s recent call for the expulsion of Atiku, his numerous criticisms of the PDP, and his consistent acts of disloyalty have warranted his removal.

Obaseki, addressing reporters in Abuja on Monday, emphasized that Wike has played a role in every internal crisis within the PDP.

He stated, “Wike [is] the problem of the PDP, and expelling Wike from the party is now a necessary task for the PDP.”

This statement was in response to Wike’s recent demand for the expulsion of Atiku, along with some party leaders, Aminu Tambuwal and Sule Lamido.

Obaseki further remarked, “The individual who should be expelled from the party is the one calling for the expulsion of others.”

“Wike is the one who formed a faction within the party known as the G-5. Contrary to the party’s will, constitution, and structure, he campaigned against the party.
