Henry is a candidate for the position after serving as an assistant to Roberto Martinez, who stepped down following the country’s early withdrawal from the 2022 World Cup.

“In my opinion, Henry must be the next coach of Belgium,” Lukaku told Sky Italia.
There is no doubt about that.

“I say it openly: He will be the country’s next coach. “He has the respect of all players and he has won everything. He knows how to move and how to be a coach. He is familiar with the team, the league, and the coaching staff. He is, in my opinion, the ideal coach for our national team.
That being said, I’m not sure who they chose, but I don’t think Belgium should start from scratch.
So far, this generation has achieved nothing, but we must persevere.

“He wants to win and I don’t think the union will select a coach who would overhaul everything and start from scratch.
It isn’t worth it.”

Arsenal and Premier League great Henry joined Martinez’s coaching staff in 2016, taking a break between 2018 and 2021 to work as a head coach with Monaco and the Montreal Impact.

Henry returned for the postponed Euro 2020 campaign in 2021, as well as Qatar 2022, however the Red Devils struggled in both events.

The case was filed by House of Representatives member Leke Abejide, who is seeking an order restraining Mark and Aregbesola from parading themselves as national chairman and secretary of the party.

Abejide, in his suit, also asked the court to nullify the alleged transfer of leadership of the ADC and stop the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognising the duo in any official capacity.

During proceedings on Friday, counsel for all parties adopted their arguments for and against the suit, after which the judge scheduled judgment for April 13.

The defendants, including the ADC, Mark, Aregbesola, former party chairman Ralph Nwosu, and INEC, urged the court to dismiss the case, arguing that it concerns internal party affairs which are not subject to judicial intervention.

They also maintained that the plaintiff lacked legal standing and that the leadership process in question followed due party procedures.

INEC’s counsel also joined in seeking dismissal of the suit, describing it as lacking merit.
