Tinubu’s Men Accuse Arise TV Of Intimidating APC Candidates.

Published

on

The All Progressives Congress APC Presidential Campaign Council PCC’s Media and Communication Directorates have responded to a statement issued on Monday by the Thisday/Arise Media Group accusing the PCC’s Director of Media and Publicity, Mr Bayo Onanuga, and Adviser, Media and Communication, Mr Dele Alake, of attempting to silence independent media and bully the press ahead of next year’s general election.
The PCC stated in a late Monday statement published on behalf of the team that “the claim is untrue.
The PCC stated that some of its columnists “substitute foul and vulgar insults for solid logic and informed assessments, while its television presenters heckle and harass their guests, particularly those of the APC, in their jaundiced, flagrantly unprofessional programmes.”
We recall that both THISDAY and ARISE Television attempted to bully and compel the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to attend their Town Hall meetings with presidential candidates, despite the media team’s explanation that it would not attend such haphazard and uncoordinated programmes organized by individual media houses.

“Each candidate’s campaign staff is free to devise its own strategy for reaching out to and engaging Nigerians.”
“As we have constantly stated, the Tinubu campaign will not submit to Obaigbena and his media group’s blackmail, intimidation, and harassment,” he added.
According to the PCC, the “attempt in the said statement to justify its false news report on the purported death of one Mueez Adegboyega Akande and the attempt to insinuate mischievously that he died in suspicious circumstances failed abysmally.
“Rather than apologise for this professional lapse, it resorts to tendentious rationalisations. Its futile attempt to link Asiwaju Tinubu to a drug case in the United States, even when as far back as 2003, the United States government had categorically stated that the candidate has no criminal records in that country, shows the depths of mischief the newspaper is willing to descend in its bid to bring down the APC candidate at all costs. This campaign of calumny is doomed to fail as it always has.
“Our candidate is focused and will not be sidetracked by this diversionary approach of hurling dirt at him merely because he is the clear frontrunner in this race and some believe that the only way to stop him is to peddle lies about him.”

‘We’re Going To Copy Amaechi’s Definition Of Brother For 2027 Election’ – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, announced that Rivers State’s political coalition will adopt Rotimi Amaechi’s past philosophy of “brotherhood” to support President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking on Saturday in the Ikwerre Local Government Area, Wike referenced Amaechi’s rationale from the 2015 election—where Amaechi argued that brotherhood isn’t about blood ties but shared support, choosing Muhammadu Buhari over Goodluck Jonathan. Wike intends to apply this exact logic against Amaechi, who is now a vice-presidential candidate for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Wike criticized Amaechi’s record as Minister of Transportation, claiming he neglected Rivers State while funneling the University of Transportation project to Daura in Katsina State in a failed bid for higher office. In contrast, Wike praised President Tinubu for recognizing the state, pointing to recent federal appointments of University of Port Harcourt and University of Environment vice-chancellors as proof that Tinubu is the true “brother” deserving of their votes in 2027.
