In an interview aired Sunday night, Kely, Flavia, and Arthur Arantes do Nascimento revealed that Pelé, who is also getting chemotherapy in his fight against cancer, is expected to depart the Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo once he fully recovers from the respiratory infection.
In that sense, neither the family nor the hospital can make any predictions.
According to the hospital, Pelé is responding well to treatment for the illness and his health has not deteriorated in the preceding 24 hours.
The hospital made no announcements on the former footballer’s health on Sunday.

I see people telling me ‘rest in peace’ (for Pelé). One day it will happen, but it is not today,” Arthur Arantes do Nascimento said. “He is going to be well, it is a matter of time. He will see Brazil lift the sixth title.”

Pelé helped Brazil win the 1958, 1962 and 1970 World Cups and remains the team’s all-time leading scorer with 77 goals in 92 matches.
