Man sets stepchildren on Fire.

Ojo Joseph, 64, who set fire to his five stepchildren in Ondo town, Ondo State, was paraded before the state police command headquarters in Akure on Wednesday.
The culprit allegedly performed the act while the victims were sleeping last Saturday, following a disagreement between him and their mother in the Fagun area of Ondo town, Ondo State.
One of the stepchildren died on the scene, while the other two died in the hospital.
The 64-year-old suspect stated that he performed the act out of rage after his wife and her children ganged up on him in his home.

“That day (last Friday) about 7 p.m., I had a fight with my wife, and the children joined my wife to beat me up; I was even injured,” he explained.That’s what they did everytime we got into a fight. ....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
So, when they had all fallen asleep, I went to buy fuel, which I poured into their room and set it on fire.
Meanwhile, the victims’ father, Mr Liadi Akinfolarin, has sought justice.

Akinfolarin alleged that he divorced their mother after she left their marital home, left the children with him, and married the suspect.

“I work on the farm as a tractor driver,” he explained. When I didn’t go to the farm, the kids would stay with me. I would sometimes stay on the farm for three to four days before returning home, and the children would stay with their mother until I returned from work.
“When I got back from the farm on Friday, I called their mother and they stayed with me until Monday, when they went back to school.”
They would go to their mother after closure till I returned.

“I got home late from work on that fateful Friday, so I couldn’t phone them because I knew they’d come to my place on Saturday.”
However, about 4 p.m., I received a call from an anonymous individual informing me that my ex-house wife’s husband’s was on fire.
But I didn’t respond because the woman is no longer my wife.
