A Senior Magistrate Court sitting in Abuja has reportedly issued bench warrants for the arrest of former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, and former Senator Ifeanyi Araraume over allegations of criminal conspiracy, forgery and the use of false documents.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

News reports that two other individuals, Timothy Ama Chuks and Amen Okorocha, were also named in the warrants over their alleged involvement in disputed All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary election documents.

The warrants, dated September 9, 2026, were issued by Senior Magistrate Court 3 in Jiwa, Abuja, in cases numbered CR/M/JW/084/2026 and CR/M/JW/085/2026.

According to the court documents, the proceedings were instituted in the name of the Inspector-General of Police against the four individuals.

The warrants authorised police officers across the country to arrest the defendants and bring them before the court.

The development follows allegations surrounding documents purportedly indicating that Okorocha won the APC senatorial primary election in Imo State.

INEC Petitions Security Agencies

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has rejected a document being circulated by Okorocha, which purportedly shows that he won the APC primary election.

The electoral body maintained that the authentic document submitted by the APC identified Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as the winner of the primary election. According to INEC, the party subsequently forwarded Uzodimma’s name as its candidate for the Imo West Senatorial District, also known as Orlu Zone.

INEC described the document being circulated by Okorocha as fake and called on security agencies to investigate the matter.

The commission made its position known in a letter dated October 8, 2026, addressed to the Commissioner of Police in Imo State and his counterpart in the Department of State Services (DSS). The letter was signed by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state, Chukwuemeka Ibeziako.

In the correspondence, INEC reported what it described as a case involving a “fraudulent and fictitious All Progressives Congress senatorial party primary report for Imo State dated 18th May, 2026.”

The commission raised concerns that, while the document officially submitted by the APC identified Uzodimma as the winner, another version circulating on social media claimed that Okorocha had emerged victorious.

INEC stated that the disputed document “wrongly presented Senator Ethelbert Rochas Okorocha as the elected candidate for the party.”

The commission reportedly attached both the original results declaring Uzodimma the winner and the disputed document to its petition to the security agencies.

It urged the police and the DSS to conduct a thorough investigation into the alleged forgery.

“In these circumstances, I urge you to graciously use your good offices to investigate and neutralise this spurious conduct that has a serious likelihood of causing the breakdown of law and order in Imo State,” INEC stated.

The allegations remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings.

Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has praised the midfield partnership between Moisés Caicedo and Jordan Henderson following the Blues’ emphatic 5-1 victory over Bournemouth in the English Premier League (EPL) on Saturday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Alonso said the pair brought stability, balance and a better understanding of the game to Chelsea’s midfield, an area that had attracted concerns ahead of the encounter.

Henderson and Morgan Rogers both scored twice, while João Pedro also found the net as Chelsea returned from the international break with a commanding victory.

Speaking during his post-match press conference, Alonso was asked about the performance of Caicedo and Henderson and how effectively they worked together in midfield.

The Spanish tactician explained that although the two players possessed different qualities and positional attributes, they complemented each other well on the pitch.

“Both, in terms of qualities, are different, and in terms of positioning as well. I think that they help each other well and they give presence, they give stability.

“You know that they are going to be the ones that are going to be helping the rest, not just for their qualities because they understand the game.

“They can play in shorter spaces, but as well defensively, they give good balance,” Alonso said.

The Chelsea boss emphasised that strengthening the midfield was essential to the team’s continued development. He added that Caicedo and Henderson would be key figures in his efforts to establish a more effective unit.

“For me, it’s fundamental that we get that area strong and for sure with Moisés, Hendo played today, it was his second game,” he added.

Alonso also identified Romeo Lavia, Reece James and Valentin Barco as players who could provide additional options in midfield.

According to the manager, Lavia has already made useful contributions, while James has also featured in the middle of the park on several occasions.

Alonso said Chelsea would continue working to improve the department as he seeks to create a more balanced, dependable and competitive midfield capable of supporting the team’s ambitions.

A review of the commission’s portal by Daily Trust showed that the list contained 13 governorship candidates and their deputies, but did not include the PDP flagbearer and his running mate.

Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, and his running mate, Kudirat Abiodun Balogun, were included in the list.
