The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has sanctioned 66 officers serving across its commands nationwide for various disciplinary offences, including alleged involvement in illegal arms dealings.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Commandant General of the corps, Ahmed Audi, revealed this on Friday while speaking with journalists in Abuja.

Audi explained that the affected personnel received different punishments based on the nature and severity of their respective offences.

The disciplinary measures included dismissal, compulsory retirement, demotion and official warnings.

He stated that the sanctions followed investigations into allegations of misconduct against the officers and were approved by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

According to the NSCDC boss, some of the affected personnel would face prosecution, while others had already been dismissed following legal proceedings.

Audi added that every officer involved was subjected to the corps’ established disciplinary procedures before final decisions were taken.

The process included orderly room trials and investigations carried out by relevant staff disciplinary committees.

He said, “Some of them are to face prosecution while some had been dismissed after facing prosecution. They will be prosecuted because of the veracity of the offence, level and kind of offence they have committed.”

Emphasising the importance of discipline in security organisations, the Commandant General stated that maintaining high standards of conduct remained essential to the operations of military and paramilitary institutions.

“The culture of any military or paramilitary organisation stands or is built on discipline,” he said.

The women were reportedly travelling to Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo aboard an Akwa Ibom Transport Corporation bus to join Governor Umo Eno in welcoming the President when their vehicle collided with a security Hilux van along Oron Road.

The collision left both vehicles badly damaged, with several occupants requiring emergency medical attention.

A video of the accident scene shared online by Nsikakabasi Akpan showed bystanders and emergency responders working to rescue injured passengers trapped in the wreckage.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Akwa Ibom State confirmed the incident through its spokesperson, Paul James, who disclosed that a rescue team had been deployed to the scene.

The former Minister of Aviation maintained that he neither authorised nor approved the acceptance of the designation.

In a statement issued on Friday through his Special Assistant on Media, Lizzy Okoji, Fani-Kayode explained that representatives from his office attended the society’s event following an invitation extended to him.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, Rotimi Amaechi, has blamed former President Olusegun Obasanjo for his children’s decision to pursue their education outside Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Amaechi said the decision was influenced by the political crisis he encountered during Obasanjo’s administration.

The former Rivers State governor made the disclosure during an interview with News Central Television on Friday, November 6, 2026.

He recounted how Obasanjo allegedly worked against his ambition to become Rivers State governor in 2007, despite emerging victorious in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary in 2006.

According to Amaechi, the disagreement escalated to the point where the former president allegedly threatened to have him arrested, forcing him to leave the country.

He disclosed that he spent about 10 months outside Nigeria while pursuing legal action over the political situation.

Amaechi added that the crisis also affected his wife and children, who were reportedly forced to move from one residence to another to avoid possible trouble.

He explained that the unstable situation made it difficult for his children to continue their education in Nigeria, prompting the family to send them abroad to ensure their safety and uninterrupted schooling.

Speaking during the interview, Amaechi said:

“President Obasanjo tried to stop me from being a governor but you will see that I did not go to sleep, I went to court and when he threatened arrest, I left the country.

“My children did not go to Nigerian school because Obasanjo chased us out of Nigeria. My wife and children were running from one house to another. They had to go to school outside the country to stay alive and to keep learning.”
