Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has pledged to serve only a single four-year term if elected president in the 2027 general election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Makinde, the presidential candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), made the promise on Saturday during a town hall meeting organised by the party in Yola, Adamawa State.

He also vowed to establish an inclusive government and address some of Nigeria’s major challenges, particularly insecurity and poverty.

“Our government will not last beyond four years. And it will be an all-inclusive government,” Makinde said.

The governor’s declaration comes as political parties intensify preparations for the 2027 general election.

His promise mirrors that of Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), who has also pledged to serve just one four-year term if elected president.

The one-term commitments have also renewed discussions about Nigeria’s informal power-sharing arrangement between the northern and southern parts of the country.

President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who hails from the South, is seeking re-election in 2027.

Keyamo Accuses Atiku Of Bitterness Against Tinubu

Meanwhile, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has accused the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, of displaying hostility towards President Bola Tinubu because of political disappointment and bitterness.

In a statement issued on Friday night, Keyamo described Atiku’s recent verbal attacks on Tinubu as signs of what he called “agitated depression,” which he attributed to political defeat.

Keyamo argued that Atiku was unhappy that Tinubu secured the presidency on his first attempt, despite both politicians having pursued lengthy political careers over several decades.

Reflecting on their political relationship when Tinubu was governor of Lagos State and Atiku served as vice president, the minister claimed that the former vice president had previously occupied a higher position in the political hierarchy.

He also urged people close to Atiku to offer him support rather than encourage his public criticisms, warning that his approach could drive away his remaining supporters and push him towards what he described as “political oblivion.”

Citing Ecclesiastes 9:11, Keyamo argued that political success is influenced by divine timing. He further claimed that Atiku urgently needed mental health support at this stage of his political career.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports of a disagreement between him and Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, insisting that their relationship remains cordial and that they will continue working together.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Wike made the clarification on Saturday during the funeral Mass of Dan Osi Orbih, a former South-South National Vice-Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), held in Ogbona, Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State.

“There is no problem between me and the governor; we are very close; we work together and we will continue to work together,” he said.

The minister rejected suggestions of strained relations with Okpebholo and praised the governor for receiving Orbih’s remains and visiting the deceased’s residence in Benin City to pay his respects.

Speaking about Orbih’s death, Wike said seeing the casket made it particularly difficult for him to come to terms with the loss of his close friend.

He urged people to pray for the bereaved family, noting that they would need strength and support to cope with their loss.

In his remarks, Okpebholo thanked Wike for standing by Orbih’s family during the mourning period.

The governor also called on Nigerians, particularly those holding public office, to serve others and use their positions to make meaningful contributions to society.

He said Orbih’s death was a reminder of the uncertainty of life and the importance of making a positive impact while alive.

According to Okpebholo, neither wealth nor political power can change the fact that death is inevitable.

Delivering the homily at the funeral Mass, the Catholic Bishop of Auchi Diocese, Most Rev. Gabriel Dunia, urged attendees to reflect on their mortality, stressing that titles, academic qualifications, social status and personal achievements could not exempt anyone from death.

Political associates and other prominent dignitaries attended the funeral to honour Orbih and pay their final respect

Iheanacho On Fire! Bursaspor Coach Er Hails Nigerian Striker’s Explosive Form.

Bursaspor head coach Mustafa Er has praised Kelechi Iheanacho for his impressive goalscoring form, expressing satisfaction with the Nigerian striker’s contribution since joining the Turkish club during the summer transfer window.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Er disclosed that Bursaspor faced competition from several clubs for the 29-year-old forward’s signature but eventually secured his services with the support of the club’s management.

“We transferred Iheanacho so that he would score goals. We worked very hard for that transfer. We also need to thank our management,” Er told reporters at the Özlüce İbrahim Yazıcı Facilities.

“There was a lot of demand for him. The size of the club was also very important in his choosing us. We are getting the contribution we want,” he added.

Iheanacho has enjoyed an impressive start to life in Turkey’s second tier, scoring 11 goals and providing two assists across eight consecutive matches for Bursaspor.

The former Leicester City and Celtic forward has quickly established himself as a key figure in the club’s attack, with Er hoping he will continue his scoring streak in the team’s next fixture.

“Iheanacho continues to score. I hope he scores this week too. We have a positive team,” the coach said.

Er also highlighted the improvement in team spirit and overall productivity, attributing the progress to the positive atmosphere within the squad.

“There is tremendous progress in team spirit. Productivity is also increasing. People are more productive when they are happy. We win as a team,” he added.

Bursaspor signed Iheanacho as a free agent in the summer of 2026 after negotiations with Scottish champions Celtic broke down in July.

The striker had reportedly turned down Celtic’s offer despite scoring nine goals in 24 appearances across all competitions during the previous season, when he helped the Scottish side win a domestic double.

Iheanacho has also maintained his scoring form on the international stage, opening the scoring for the Super Eagles in their 3-3 friendly draw against Russia on October 6.

Bayern Munich Crisis? Director Delivers Strong Message To Neuer After Blunder.

Bayern Munich sporting director Max Eberl has criticised goalkeeper Manuel Neuer’s decision-making following his costly mistake in Saturday’s 2-2 draw against Augsburg in the Bundesliga....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Neuer’s early blunder allowed Augsburg to score what was described as the fastest goal in Bundesliga history, handing the hosts an unexpected lead and putting the German champions under immediate pressure.

Robin Fellhauer capitalised on the loose ball and finished clinically after Neuer failed to deal with the situation cleanly.

Speaking to Sky Sport after the match, Eberl said the experienced goalkeeper made matters worse by taking an unnecessary risk while attempting to correct his initial mistake. However, he stressed that Neuer was not the only player responsible for Bayern’s disappointing performance.

“He made a mistake, took the ball poorly, then he wanted to solve it and solved it too riskily,” Eberl said.

“We made life difficult for ourselves with a series of mistakes. Manu is involved in that, but others are too.”

Eberl admitted that the error was unexpected, considering Neuer’s experience and impressive achievements throughout his career. He also maintained that Bayern created enough scoring opportunities to secure victory despite their defensive shortcomings.

“We had enough chances to win the game anyway. We all know, you rarely see that from Manuel Neuer,” he added.

Reflecting on the goalkeeper’s lengthy career, Eberl questioned whether Neuer had committed similar costly errors during his more than 800 competitive appearances.

“I don’t know his 800 or more competitive games and I don’t know if he has made bigger blunders there,” he said, again expressing concern about the goalkeeper’s decision-making during the incident.

The 2-2 draw proved costly for Bayern as they missed the opportunity to strengthen their position in the Bundesliga title race.

The German champions now sit second in the standings, two points behind league leaders Borussia Dortmund.
