Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has disclosed how his principal interacted with individuals who had previously been at odds with him.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Olayinka said Wike exchanged pleasantries with his critics following a Rainbow Coalition meeting held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to him, the FCT Minister shook hands with people who had allegedly fought, abused and insulted him after the meeting.

Olayinka disclosed this in a post on X, where he wrote:

“This is the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, shaking hands with those who had fought, abused and insulted him after the Rainbow Coalition meeting in Port Harcourt yesterday.

“If you are still looking for reasons Nyerisi is always winning, here is one.”

Meanwhile, Wike has criticised the political situation of the Nigeria Democratic Congress presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Wike claimed that the former Anambra State governor could face a tougher campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election because he no longer has the level of political backing he allegedly enjoyed during the 2023 election.

The former Rivers State governor made the remarks while speaking about Obi’s political activities and prospects for the next presidential contest.

Wike also questioned whether Obi would be able to sustain the level of political spending associated with his 2023 campaign.

According to Wike, Obi benefited from the support of some individuals within government circles during the 2023 election because they believed he had a strong chance of winning the presidency.

He argued that the political situation had changed ahead of the 2027 election, claiming that Obi no longer enjoys similar backing from people in government.

Wike said the development could affect Obi’s ability to provide financial support for political activities and his supporters.

“Things are tough for him now, so he will not be in a position to give the money. No government is backing him. In 2023, some people in government were backing him. So they thought they would win. This time, nobody is backing him,” Wike said.

Quadri said his support for the president was influenced by his personal experiences and the assistance Tinubu had extended to members of the entertainment industry over the years.

According to the actor, Tinubu’s relationship with entertainers predates his emergence as president, tracing back to his tenure as governor of Lagos State.

Speaking during an interview on the African A-List programme, Quadri recalled how Tinubu reportedly paid the medical expenses of late Nollywood actor Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, while he was battling an illness.

The actor maintained that Tinubu had consistently supported entertainers facing financial difficulties, making him a familiar figure within the industry.

Quadri said his decision to support the president was not driven by personal benefits but by his experiences of Tinubu’s assistance to practitioners in the entertainment sector.

He stated, “People do not understand it. It is not about what we want to eat. He has been taking care of those of us in the industry since he was the governor of Lagos.

“When Moji Olaiya died, I, Fathia Balogun, Yomi Fabiyi and others were trying to bring her back from abroad. We went to Bourdillon to seek financial support.

“He asked us for the cost and paid it. It was a total of $25,000. I know it is not enough, but I praise him.”
